The faqs pointed me to this doc for spam filter tuning info:

The tuning info was very helpful. The Related Settings section had me

TB 3.0.3 consistently crashes every time I try to send more than 2MB (?) in separate attached files
Hi
TB 3.9.3 is consistently crashing on my system since its recent update
to version 3.0.3 every timew I try to send several files attached to one
email roughly weighing around or over 2MB.
No apparent TB-feedback report, as was usual with previous versions of
TB I've been using, showed this behavior.
I'm running XP-SP3 on a 3.6GHz Pentium with 2GB RAM
The problem occurs while sending gmail-emails over gmail smtp

[Hendrix] Search by date
Name:
Email: szeck87atcomcastdotnet
Product: Thunderbird
Summary: Search by date
Comments:
Hi. A feature that would be useful is searching by date. Right now
obviously we can sort by date, but users that have a lot of folders have
to scroll through each one to see all the ones from each day. But a
search from one date to another that goes through every email in every
single folder and displays them would be nice.
Thanks.

1. a "queue" feature would be most helpful. It encourages proper review before sending.
2. with the global "Get Mail" it would be most helpful if one could specify which email accounts

accounts that one does not want checked as part of a global fetch).

Concerns Thunderbird 3.0.3: At first, great programm! 2.:Little Problem:

Comments:
I agree with a previous poster about the interface for adding accounts
and the displays for email.
1. Smart folders. Don't default them to on. They're neither smart, nor
useful. Worse, when using TB to manage multiple email accounts, they
make things really, really bad. Why have I defaulted all my accounts
to use the Global Inbox only to have 2-4 new smart folders pop-up
everywhere? What's the function of the Archive folder?
2. The Email Header pane can not be resized as it was in TB2. Wh

Thunderbird is a great e-mail client. Still, there's something to make

many messages to an e-mail, where just a small bit is actually needed.

Summary: Automatic address completion - sorting by priority
Comments:
My boss has the problem that he wants to write many emails to
many different people. He likes to type in two or three letters and wait
for autocompletion ... which does not always select him the wanted
address. It would be a nice feature if autocompletion ranks email
addresses e.g. by "frequent usage" or "last used". This should be
editable in the address book. Alternatively, it would be nice if address

The loading of messages with large attachments is unacceptably long (not
the downloading - the loading of already downloaded messages). That is a
deal-breaker since I work daily with many large data-file attachments.
Not sure why this wasn't picked up and corrected during alpha, beta

wait around hoping somebody will resolve the issue. I loved TB2 - hope I
can get back to it.

Thunderbird 3.01 & 3.02 Folder Problems
I recently sent an email indicating that some of my email folders
disappeared after the installation of TB 3.0.1. Although a search for
the emails indicated there were still in my Local folder there was no
way to retrieve the emails. Now that I've installed TB 3.0.2 and carry
out the same search none of the emails are found. In fact when I look at
the search results graph all emails for the period ending Nov 2009 and
beginning Jan 2010 the graph is blank.
Please advise of a work around so I can retrieve my important missing emails
Thanks

Suggestions for Thunderbird
1) when you download new messages, even if you are scrolled to the
bottom of your top window that lists all
messages, the new messages are always "below the fold", ie, you can't
see them. This may be by design,
but I would find it much more useful to have the top window scroll to
show the most recent messages.
A lot of times, 1 new message will come in, but it will be hidden and
the scroll bar doesn't really move

1. Defaulting all folders in IMAP accounts to offline use is absurd. For
large IMAP accounts, this means a huge amount of disk space is used.
IMAP is a server-side protocol, and any user with a large number of IMAP

least, having a "turn offline use off globally" button would be decent,
that way you don't have to manually do it to all of your folders one by one.

No new messages hides status for newsgroups
The "There are no new messages...." messages now flashes repeatedly
while newsgroups are being processed. In Thunderbird 2 I was shown the
status of each newsgroup as it was processed. This was very useful. The
new message is not useful at all. I suspect this is a bug. Please can it
be put back to the way it was in TB 2?
Thanks

Since Thunderbird users can no longer forward attachment files without
also forwarding personal info of the originator, one must try to

attachment file name, locks up Thunderbird so that it can not be used or
