Sunbird 0.9 on Windows 7 Home Premium x64.
I am trying to subscribe to this calendar:

Synchronization of Events With Sunbird
I have Sunbird 0.9 and my OS is Windows XP SP3.
I have Sunbird 0.9 installed on two PCs which are not networked together.
Is there a way to synchronize the events that are posted in each of the two
PCs? As I said, the two PCs are not networked together (one PC at home, the
other one at work) but they both have access to the Internet.
Ideally, I am looking for an add-on similar to Xmarks which I use to
synchronize Firefox's bookmarks between the two computers.
Thanks.

Sunbird does not preserve event UIDs over WebDAV
Hello,
When using Sunbird 0.9 (and previous versions) to subscribe to a
remote calendar over WebDAV, events are sent back to the WebDAV server
with changed UIDs after any updates in Sunbird. This looks
intentional to me, since the original UIDs are there, but they have an
added (random?) number on the end. My reading of RFC 2445, section
4.8.4.7 is that Sunbird's behavior violates that UIDs should be
"persistent." Every single update is sent with changed UIDs, so on
the server side, the same events are duplicated for each and every
update from the Sunbird client.

Is there a way to get the alarm to ring the PC speakers when headphones are in use?
I use Skype a lot, so I always have my headphones plugged into my

call to the PC speakers, since you wouldn't be able to hear it if you

Sunbird have such a setting, so I can hear an alarm when I'm away from

Task (todo) sharing/exchange with Kontact/Korganizer
Good afternoon,
Is there any production-stable way to obtain transparent tasks sharing
(multi-user sync) with other Lightning AND Kontact clients (with usage
or fields restrictions I guess) ?
Meaning: all users being connected at the same time, whenever one user
creates a new task in one of the calendars, then a couple of minutes
later, it appears on the desks of other users who subscribed to this
calendar, in read+write mode.
I retained the SyncKolab route, since it would permit to keep the data
on the IMAP server (no extra server, no extra/public service required).

Lightning tasks and events...
I love lightning, and think it has come on a long way in recent months.
I have a number of real frustrations with it...
* I really need to link to emails (on my IMAP server) from tasks.
It is useful to link to web pages - but, for myself - at least, I
really need to refer to information I've been sent by email (and,
preferably, be able to easily refer to the history of emails
related to the task in a convenient form.) Could this be done
with imap://.../ URLs by any chance?

No answer in Thunderbird group so maybe it is better off in here (as it

Is there anyway to change the order tabs open in Thunderbird?
Currently I keep my 'Mail/All Folders' and 'Calendar' tabs open all the

If I open an email message in a tab, read it and then close it, the

Scripted installation of plugins....
Hi,
When we use windows sysprep to prepare a disk image prior to mirroring
to multiple computers, sysprep strips off the Lightning and some other
plugins' functionality from Thunderbird (files are in user profile).
Does it exist a way to install and configure plugins from a script once
the user logs in for the first time?
In our case we want Lightning, Google Calendar sync and Google address
book sync installed and also configured with correct google account data
from the same script, if possible.
Thanks for comments and tips about how to solve this

I had to recreate my profile recently, but cannot figure out how to get the
ReminderFox reminders to start popping up again. I've gone through all the

I did have to separately repoint the mail folders after the new profile, but
the same technique doesn't seem to give similar results. The reminders WERE

Lightning doesn't restart in current day/month
Hi
If I have Lightning opened in a tab and working in a future month when I
restart Thunderbird the calendar does not revert to the current month
(set to view month) but stays in the future month previously being
worked on. However, if I close the Lightning tab, then restart
Thunderbird and open Lightning the current month is correctly displayed.
Is this operating as per design?

Greetings,
I am hoping that someone out there can assist me...
I have the event/task pane displayed while in Mail mode. The tasks
being displayed are ALL tasks, even ones for a future date.
Is there any setting that allows only current day tasks to show in the

today.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

GTD Methodology
Does anyone know of a good way to implement a "Getting Things Done"

I need to classify a task in three ways: a status (of "next action",

handle contexts.
So far, the best interface for task management that I have found so far

Set number of repeated event reminders in Lightning?
Hi,
(Lightning with Thunderbird 2.0.023)
Is it possible to set either the number or the date range of a repeated event?
If so, is it possible to do this by editing the original entry?
For example, if I have class that meets once a week for 10 weeks, can I set the
reminder to stop after 10 weeks or only work on those 10 dates?
I want to keep the record of when I attended classes, but don't want to the
entry active after the 10 weeks.
The only options I can find are the 1) delete all occurrences of the event or 2)
delete each continuing instance after the 10 weeks.

Lightning: Calendar. Tasks. What about Notes/Memos?
I would love to replace my Outlook with Thunderbird/Lightning. However,
having such a tremendous amount of information in contacts, calendar,
tasks as well as in the notes/memos, it is important to me to not loose
those informations.
While Thunderbird includes the contacts, Lightning adds almost the rest.
There is one part missing. The notes / memos.
Is it in Lightning and I have just not found it?
If not, what are the plans.
I really would love to switch to TB+L.
Thanks for your feedback.

Why does Lightning write to calendar when I hit "dismiss"?
One of the latest nightlys introduced a problem, I guess. I'm using a

A meeting reminder pops up and I hit "dismiss". Lightning then reports

Why would Lightning need to modify the calendar?

Just wondering if there is a feature either existing or planned to have
scheduled exporting of local calendars. The benefit I can see is being

Tips/Thoughts? Sorry if this has been already covered, a very quick

After first having trouble getting printing to work I found a couple of
oddities in printing from Lightning under SeaMonkey.2.0
First the "Page Set Up" is grayed out when a Lightning Tab is selected.
At least some of the page preferences are still active and needed. For

Print Preview is also grayed out. It could also be useful.
Finally the Monthly Grid does not print Category Colors.

View buttons not working
I am running Ubuntu 9.10 with Thunderbird 2.0.0.23 and lightning 0.9.
I believe I installed Thunderbird separately (not through Synaptic or
apt-get), but I am not positive.
I just installed Provider so I can sync my calendar with Google
Calendar but the option File -> New -> Calendar is grayed out. Then I
noticed that, while in calendar view, if I click on the "Today,"
"Day," "Week," "Multiweek," or "Month" buttons, nothing happens (my
view does not change). My "New Event" and "New Task" buttons are
grayed out as well. If I click on say, the "Month" view under the
"View" menu, it

Is Lightning known to auto-accept invitations?
From time to time I get an invitation email (for an event) and
Lightning does not allow me to accept or reject the invitation because
it displays "This message contains an event that has already been added
to your calendar."
No, this is not because I hit the accept-button before. It displays this
message right after the email arrives.
Is Lightning known to auto-accept invitations?
My calendar is a CalDAV->Zimbra configuration. When I check the event in
question in the Zimbra web client I see that it was added to my calendar
but I've yet to accept it.
Any ideas?

In Tools > Preferences > Lightning > Timezone, the drop-down list is empty.
What is the problem here?
Thanks,

Happen to check the incomplete tasks and there is none! But click the

Events & Tasks Sometimes Not Displaying
I'm using Lightning v0.9 (b2008091719) w/ Portable TB 2.0.0.23.
Tasks and events do not always display. They aren't lost though. When
I sync with Google the events aren't deleted from the Google copy and
when I move to a different computer or immediately after a reboot they
do tend to show.
As an example, today I deleted a single instance from a repeating
event. After that all instances of the event disappeared. They still
display on the Google calendar, but restarting Thunderbird does not
make them appear. There are no error messages in the error console
related to the Lightning
