Browser crashes seamonkey whenever invoked since version 2.0
I've updated from 2.0 to v. 2.03 and still the browser immediately blows
up the whole program every time it is invoked. The browser window tries
to open and before anything fills into the all white browser window,
seamonkey dies and goes to an error reporting message box. I've asked
for help with this in the box and so far zero response.
The problem started after a browser crash. I suspect that there is a
page that was in this very last crashed session that is causing the
endlessly ongoing crash, How can I clear the last session out of the
way without losing all my emails a

Problems after upgrading SeaMonkey from v1.18 to v2.03
I just did this upgrade. It seemed to run OK and all the email and
bookmarks from my old profile appear to have been successfully imported.
But there are a couple of issues:
1. Every time I start SeaMonkey v2.03, it asks for the master password
for the software security device. This is in spite of the fact that in
preferences->privacy & security->master passwords I have checked the
selection "SeaMonkey will ask for your master password the first time it
is needed". Surprisingly, if I click "cancel" on the password dialog box
without entering the password, SeaMonkey starts norm

Unicode fonts
Ran into a curious issue today... it's not really a problem, at least
not for me, but still curious.
Let me establish the parameters first. I'm running XP SP3 with the
"extra" fonts (Far Eastern and right-to-left) installed, so it should
have a pretty good Unicode font coverage. Not only that, but I have the
Code2000 font installed also, which should plug most holes Microsoft
left in their coverage. I have the following browsers available:
- Seamonkey 2.0.3 (primary browser)
- IE 8 (fully patched)
- Firefox 3.6
- Opera 10.5
- SRWare Iron 4.0.280 (equivalent to Google Chrome 4)

I am hoping SM has an easy way to backup emails.
Right now I drag a folder to the external HD and that is my backup. One

I'm running SM2.03 and this is what happened: my bookmarks toolbar was

Locking SeaMonkey Window Size
Greetings:
I'd like to "lock" the size of my SeaMonkey windows (both Mail and

to allow a tiny sliver of the desktop on the left side to be exposed
where I can drag items off the SeaMonkey browser screen onto the desktop

SM2.1: Workaround for remote timestamp on downloads?
Hello world!
As proposed in bug 178506, downloaded files are now assigned the last-
modified timestamp from the remote server. This is a major annoyance
in my opinion, but since even reasonable suggestions such as chaging
the behaviour through a pref (bug 545392) fall on deaf ears, I guess
this is one of those ideological deals which you can't argue about.
Can somebody suggest a more convenient workaround than

Transferring Site Passwords
I recently installed SM 2.0.3 as a possible substitute for FF 3.5.8. I think
the developers did a great job - they brought over the good stuff from FF3,
and let the marginally useful stuff that people create extensions to remove
stay where it was.
Anyway, one difference I experienced between this version of SM and SM 1.x
is that there seemed to be no easy way to transfer passwords. I had to print
screenshots of all my password listings in FF and then go to each site in

strange dock icon behavior
Hi Folks,
Running SeaMonkey 2.0.3 on a Mac (OS 10.6.2), and over the past several
days I've noticed a new, strange, and unwanted behavior.
Until a few days ago, the SeaMonkey icon in my dock would show (in a red
circle) the number of unread email messages, and would reduce that
number as I read messages.
As of a few days ago, the number stopped decrementing. If my mailbox is
empty, all is fine, the number starts ticking up. Then I read mail and
the number stays the same, until I restart SeaMonkey, at which point it
resets to whatever number of unread messages are left.

Address Book question
It used to be, in Netscape, I could type the first letter of my best
friend's name, "Jeff" into the address bar "To: j " while posting an
email......and it would autofill Jeff and his email address.
In Seamonkey, when I type "j" up comes the name and address of another
friend, "Spike" with his email address. He has no j's in his name or
his email address.
So far I have accidentally sent Spike a couple of emails meant for Jeff.
Not too embarrassing, as I normally don't post dubious stuff but I

Optiions/Character encoding problems

I had occasionally been getting garbage characters showing up in my message

For various reasons, I dont like ISO-8859-1 and prefer Unicode UTF-8.
That gets rid of the odd characters, but in a short time, they return, and
when I check Options/Character Encoding, it has jumped back to putting a

Problem in copy pasting of multiple e-mail in address bar
1) I am using Seamonkey version 2.0.3. If I want to send an e-mail to
more than one persons, I can not copy paste multiple e-mails from word

individually which takes longtime. Please solve my problem as soon as
possible.
2) The E-mail client of Seamonkey does neither receive the mails nor
send the mails despite of all server settings(POP and SMTP) are
correctly configured. The only message it displays is " CONNECTION TO
SERVER TIMED OUT" OR "FAILED TO CONNECT THE SERVER". FYI, I am using

I just loaded Seamonkey v. 2.0.3 over 1.1.17 and seem to have lost

It imported all other boxes and profiles except my Inbox.

Nail & Newsgroup Account Settings and Leave Messages on Server Settings
Background:
I decided to install SeaMonkey 2.0.3 on my system yesterday. I also
intend to keep SeaMonkey 1.1.18 installed on my system. I allowed the
2.0.3 software to be installed in the default locations--I made
absolutely no changes to this process. My operating system is Windows

Subsequent Actions Since Installation:
I established shortcuts on my Desktop for SeaMonkey 1.1.18 (one for mail

browser). Both shortcuts are working properly.

seamonkey-2.x.. shortcomings (linux)
Hi all
I am far from an experienced linux user, however I can find my way
around a linux system.
I use Puppy Linux which uses Seamonkey as the default browser.
Now, in Seamonkey-1.x series I (and all other Puppy users) could drag
a link or an image from the browser to a directory and wget would
automatically start and download the file. Nice feature.
In all seamonkey-2.x series so far this option seems not possible. I
have tried static builds, official mozilla builds and have compiled
seamonkey myself (several times) and still can not get this
functionality. Is there a ./conf

View Message Body As Bug
In SM2/TB3, if I save a message as a .eml file and then open it from the File

not work. The selection button moves, but the view does not change.
This only happens with a saved file. If a regular message is displayed in a

Migration help needed 1.1.18 to 2.0.3
So today I decided to update my last 1.1.18 hold out to 2.0.3 and I have

Re: Turn Composer into a full-fledged word processor?
Greetings:
I didn't intend to cause any heated discussion with this topic. I merely
wanted to know whether a Composer "word-processor enhancement" plug-in
was technically possible via a third party or hacker. I wasn't demanding
it, though it'd be awfully fun to have in your quiver, especially since
"cloud"-type word processors like Zoho have given exclusive attention to
plugging in their features into MS Office and Word.

SM2: Imap folder syncronisation
Hi!
I'm looking into migrating several users from 1.1.18 to SM 2.
On a test-run I realised that folder synchronisation seems to be on as a
default in SM 2. (This spilled 15GB of junk into my test-profile.)
I see that it can be turned off manually in the settings, but I would
prefer to turn it off once and for all, because mail shoud stay on the
imap-server only anyway.
Is there a user-pref to turn off synchronisation completely?

Odd Characters in Sidebar Search
Ever since 2.x, the sidebar search entry field turns spaces into % symbols after a search is performed.
For instance, I have Google as the default, and when I type in "some thing with spaces" and hit return, the entry line becomes "some%thing%with%spaces" (that was a direct copy/paste) while the actual Google website page search field contains "some thing with spaces" UNTIL I click the sidebar search button again, then the web page field is populated with "some%thing%with%spaces"
Any idea why?
Character encoding is the default western (ISO-8859-1).

Warning to upgrade
Why is 2.0.3 telling me there's a new version available and I should download
2.0.3? Is it looking at the version of the default SM in /usr/bin instead of

I leave the distribution default in /usr/bin and run the latest stable or pre
out of /usr/local/ instead.
This is not an error report, I'd just like to know why in case I set up a user
this way.

all its files, SeaMonkey does not start any more. When I click

SeaMonkey 2.0.2 on Snow Leopard - Mail Folders Problem
Hi there,
I just installed SeaMonkey here on my Mac and am using my .Mac account
with it. However, there are many old, now removed, folders showing up
in the IMAP folder list. I have tried deleting them but they keep
coming back! I also took them off the Offline browsing list. No
change. Each time I open SM mail I get many error messages indicating
the folder doesn't exist (one message for folder).
Ii did have SeaMonkey installed previously probably a year ago, and have
also had ThunderBird on here as well (no longer resident), so I'm
wondering if this is something to

invoke composer
When I go to "edit" an HTML or HTM document
I would like Windows XP sp3 to know to use composer for the job.
After installing SM2.0._ Word takes over! SM1 used to do this just fine.
Is there a fix to the registry to make .HTM or .HTML files
"edit" with Composer?

SeamonkeyV2.0.1-unable to send emails after migration
Hi,
i did migrate from V.1.1.18 to V.2.0.1 using a zip-file. During some
tests i found that i cannot send any email. Send ends with following
error-msg:
> Sending of message failed.
> An error occurred sending mail: Unable to authenticate to SMTP server
> mailto.t-online.de. It does not support authentication (SMTP-AUTH) but
> you have chosen to use authentication. Uncheck 'Use name and password'

my earlier SM migrations did copy the profile/definition and could be
used unchanged.
Question: Where do i find the locat

Ping Chris Ilias
I think that sometime ago Chris posted that he wasn't maintaining his
website:
http://seamonkey.ilias.ca/
Chris, any plans to update for 2.x? Or, perhaps turn the site into a
wiki so that others can update etc?
Thanks & BTW it's still an *excellent* SM resource.

SM2.0.1: Still Getting Random "Set as Default Home Page"
Nobody else is seeing this behavior? I didn't get any sympathizers
last time I posted this.
Sometimes when I press the Home Button (which has been moved to the
navigation bar, if that matters), a dialog pops up that asks me if I
want to set the new home page as the default.
I have finally managed to reproduce the problem 3 out of 25 times by
switching between my desktop running a RealVNC client E4.2.8
connected to another Windows XP box running a VNC server (free
edition 4.1.3). When I switch back to my local desktop and press
the Home button, the erratic dialog box sometimes ap

Just to be clear - the zindus addon doesn't focus on Zimbra in
preference to Google. In fact, due to the relative size of the user
bases, the reverse has probably been true of late. But it's true that
the zindus addon isn't google-specific, see:
