I've built firefox 3.0.4 from source on windows (MSVC8) and noticed that some of my DLL's (like xul.dll) are different sizes than the release version of firefox. What's the difference? HI, where i can get the latest .dic and .aff files for all supported languages in one place(as a zip or tar) in Mozilla cvs for any particular release. I get few .dic and .aff files from http://mxr.mozilla.org/l10n/find?string=myspell&tree=l10n. But this is in cvs branch. In this case it's difficult to maintain the files for me. I have to give using Mozilla away because it's the only program that I run that crashes my Win XP. I use Firefox with the latest update to read my Yahoo email because it actually handles the Yahoo interface better than IE but it crashes without apparent reason every so often, when I say crash I mean Windows reboots and all open programs lose data. As much as I hate using a Microsoft product I am now forced to use IE.

I have had enough of the failure of Mozilla/Firefox to follow the HTML specification for styling the CAPTION element. I am going to patch the code myself and submit the patche(s) for incorporation into future releases. However, I would appreciate if someone could give me a heads-up on what source files to look at for fixing how the Caption element is positioned within the Table element. I am particularly interested in the code that renders Caption with respect to the Table element when the user applies CSS to it: namely when the user specifies the "margin" properties.

applet doesn't work for Minefield

Hi All, I just compiled the firefox on Windows XP with Cygwin / mingw. It seemed to be ok, except when I am loading a page with a applet, the applet is not loaded (Jvm is not started). In my command window it looks like the plugin is found correctly: For application/x-java-vm found plugin .... (right directory displayed here) Any clues what can be the problem ? :-) I'm an IE user, but I'm checking out Mozilla/Firefox to check compatibility for a website I'm making. As an outsider, I find the naming/numbering of Netscape/Mozilla/Firefox/Gecko/... extremely confusing. Anyway, my specific question is this: I've installed Mozilla 1.7.12 (because that's the version that most often turns up in my visitors' statistics) but if the site works in this version, does it also work in the latest Firefox? CVS connection timed out

Dear all, I actually have a lot of trouble to pull files from the anonymous mozilla cvs (cvs-mirror.mozilla.org). On some part of the tree it is simply impossible for me. I get 'connection timed out' errors when reading from or writing to cvs-mirror.mozilla.org. Did you experienced the same problem ? Hi, I modified mfcemebd with version mozilla1.7.5 for my needs. I have been using some of the non public interfaces like IFrame and IContent. I tried updating to the latest CVS version of mozilla and my code doesnt compile anymore. I get the following error. gcc 3.4.4 versus firefox?

I build firefox from CVS every day on my gentoo-stable machine. The gentoo folks just marked gcc-3.4.4 as stable, so I tried it. I had no problems with it except for firefox. Firefox compiles with no errors, but when I run the program it freezes during startup and consumes 99% of cpu until I kill the firefox-bin process. Has anyone successfully built firefox with gcc-3.4.4?

Problem running TestGtkEmbed

firefox-1.0.7 binaries on solaris-2.8

I downloaded firefox1.0.7-sparc-sun-solaris2.8-gtk2.tar.bz2 and after geting binaries in .../firefox on solaries 2.8 system. I need to install it and then its has to be ditributed via NFS mount to many other work stations-- some of them are running saolaris -2.9 I can see scripts " firefox" and "firefox-config" as two potentential place to make chnages twick, but not sure how all this will work. I did make one change in "firefox" and my last two lines in the very first section and now it looks like: moz_pis_startstop_scripts() { MOZ_USER_DIR=".mozilla/firefox" # MO

Minimo on x86

Hello everyone, At http://ubuntulite.org/ and http://groups.google.it/group/ubuntu_lite?lnk=srgg&hl=it we're trying to set up an Ubuntu distribution which could work even on older, ram-limited computers. We would love to be able to use minimo on such machines, if this is feasible. Could anyoe provide us with a statically compiled binary of minimo for x86? I seem to remember someone tried to compile it from source, but he didn't success... :( Thanks a million and sorry for my little OT :)

Linux: error compiling icformat.c

hi all, My Firefox (only) builds have been failing for a week or so now; the latest log shows the following error.
