Hello, I posted this on mozilla.dev.tech.ldap, but it may make more sense in this group... I am using the following code to simply connect to an ApacheDS LDAP server from JS: function verifyLogin() { alert ("in verifyLogin"); var server = Components.classes["@mozilla.org/network/ldap-server;1"].createInstance(Components.interfaces.nsILDAPServer) var url_str = "ldap://localhost:10389"; server.key = "ldap"; server.username = "uid=admin,ou=system"; server.password = "secret"; server.binddn = "uid=admin,ou=system"; server.sizelimit = 100;

SAML - custom multi-valued attribute to hold name value pairs

I am trying to store 100's of possible affiliations for use in federation via SAML. Rather than creating a new attribute for every partner and then storing the loginID of the remote system we came up with a different approach that limits the amount of changes on the directory servers, but have run into an issue. Say the user has the following associations to be linked to be added to his LDAP account: Medco,BobbyEwing Aetna,EwingB923 Fidelity,2323BobEwin If the associations are being stored in a multi-valued attribute call "fedIDs", how do you concatenate the name value pairs in

Does Mozilla ldap c sdk supports GSS-SPNEGO

Hi, I am using mozilla c sdk version 5.2.1. At present we are successfully doing a ldap_sasl_bind_s with GSSAPI as a mechanism. Now we intend to do the negotiation using SPNEGO. I perform a ldap_sasl_bind_s by passing GSS-SPNEGO as the mechanism. But when I feed the received sasl bind token to my gss_init_sec_context call, it returns me an error saying "Invalid token supplied" It works successfully with GSSAPI as a mechanism. I think mozilla c sdk uses Cyrus SASL internally. I was going through the cyrus-sasl code but didnt found anything related to SPNEGO. Can somebody co

LDAP_MSG_RECEIVED in ldap_result

Hi All, We are using Mozilla LDAP C SDK version 5.12. NSPR version 4.2.2. NSS version 3.7.7 Mozilla documentation at http://www.mozilla.org/directory/csdk-docs/search.htm specifies 3 feasible values for "all" parameter in ldap_result call. They are LDAP_MSG_ONE, LDAP_MSG_ALL and LDAP_MSG_RECEIVED. But, documentation at http://www.mozilla.org/directory/csdk-docs/function.htm#result talks about only LDAP_MSG_ONE and LDAP_MSG_ALL. For LDAP C SDK version that we are using (specified above), which of the above documentation is correct? If LDAP_MSG_RECEIVED is supported, then how

We've been having an intermittent crash using the Sun LDAP C SDK for some time, and more recently switched to the Mozilla 5.1.7 C SDK in an unsuccessful attempt to alleviate it. After some digging, it appears the problem is with the simple_bindifnot_s call, which is used whenever LDAP_OPT_RECONNECT is used (this is in the 5.1.7 codebase, the code has been rearranged slightly in 6.0.x but the same problem exists). In that call, we check if the connection is alive, if not, we call: nsldapi_free_connection( ld, ld->ld_defconn, NULL, NULL, 1, 0 ); This call basically frees the LDAP

can an ldap filter transform the output from a query ?

Hi, I have a small problem to solve on a netscape ldap server, but I guess the issue is probably generic The LDAP server stores users and groups. What I need is maililists, but this data is actually present in the group entries. Can I query this and selectively return and rewrite the output to look like a mailist from within a standard LDAP filter ? So for example a group has attributes of UID, OU,O I'd like to return just the name of the group and the UID BUT append a string on the end to make it a mail address.

simple_bind_s does nothing if using the last used DN!!

Investigating a user problem, I came across the code below. It turns out that if you do a second bind with the same DN, the password isn't even checked but you just get an OK! In my opinion, this very bad. Imagine a user just had changed it's password and wants to check by authenticating? It would always return true. Or even worse: You see your (disliked) coworker login into the system, then you walk (run?) to your machine and login with his userid and your in! Password doesn't matter! We are talking security issues here. Then you don't assume it will be OK. No, you CHECK if it is OK

Hello, I noticed a little bug in the LDAPException class. In erorCodeToString static method, ErrorCodes_en_US.props is retrieved (based on locale). However, ErrorCodes_en_US.props does not exist, only ErrorCode.props. One way to fix it is to rename the file accordingly. In addition, build.xml needs to be updated to include /ldapjdk/netscape/ldap/errors/ dir in the ldapjdk.jar. One way to fix this would be to add the following to the bottom of "build-jdk" target: <mkdir dir="${jdk.dist}/netscape/ldap/errors"/> <copy todir="${jdk.dist}/netscape/ldap/errors">

Apologies if this isn't the correct group. We're running Messenger 4.1 on NT4 sp6a (Dinosaurs I know, but it's been rock solid for 8 years...) Recently, the SMTPD.exe service will not start. Launch it and it builds large (354 MB) files on the root directory with random 3 character filenames (no ext), all the while using more and more memory until it crashes. Needless to say, without smtp, the mailserver don't work. The server only hosts around 40 email addresses. It's virus free and no changes have been made to the configuration of the machine recently. [ADMIN] mozilla-directory is moving!

It should be no secret these days that the Mozilla Foundation and its related projects are no longer a pet project of Netscape, yet the newsgroups we are using for public discussions still bear the Netscape name. We've been planning for years to move from netscape.public.mozilla.* to just mozilla.*, and the time has finally come! In August, we announced a partnership with Giganews Newsgroups (http://www.giganews.com/) to provide NNTP services for our news.mozilla.org domain. Hello, How do I make Thunderbird follow LDAP referrals ? The first part is what we released on mozilla. It is a kind of object-oriented package for handling PIN requests from NSS. Specifically I am trying to read messages relating to password policy overlay module control messages. I know the server generates these messages. I also have learned these messages are mapped to OID entries inside ldap.h: #define LDAP_CONTROL_PASSWORDPOLICY

Netscape Directory SDK does not have class LDAPSearchRequest for LDAP Server??

Hi there, We have been using "Netscape Directory SDK" to implement our LDAP Server for over 5 years. Now we are upgrading to support LDAPV3. As we use this library for server implementation, we need to process search request from the client, and I found no easy way to do it. In your architecture, it says you have a class LDAPSearchRequest, but the library does not have this classs, you do have JDAPSearchRequest, but it is for LDAP clients. Could you provide some sample codes to implement a server side LDAPSearchRequest, so I don't need to do all the parsing myself?? Thanks a lot,

Static builds of ldap c sdk

Hi, I want to make a static build of LDAP C sdk. I found that the default build made by gmake is dynamic. I need to know that is there any command line paramter or switch which can be given to configure or gmake to get this result or one has to dive into the makefiles and search for the compiler and linker flags himself? newsgroup overhaul

Gerv has just posted his last call for comments on the new Mozilla newsgroup hierarchy that will be replacing this one: http://weblogs.mozillazine.org/gerv/archives/008005.html I just added a comment to his blog suggesting that this group should really be replaced by mozilla.dev.tech.ldap, as opposed to the currently proposed mozilla.dev.tech.directory. Feel free to chime in over either in support, or with alternate suggestions/reasoning. Dan

"Paul's Gospel" William R. Newell This is a great Bible study, a clear treatise on the truth of God for this age; the author was one of America's greatest Bible expositors. It glorifies the Saviour, as the author desired it to do. It should be distributed by the millions.
