What is the latest version of Mozilla or Firefox that will work with Java 1.2? I tried to install Firefox 1.5 and then the standalone Java 1.2 install, and this did not install Java onto Firefox. JRE problem in Mozilla on Linux Machine!

Hi All, I am having this really annoying problem with getting my JRE to work in Mozilla. I have created a symbolic link from the <Mozilla installation> dir to the <JRE> dir. I have also added the JDK and JRE paths to the environment variables. But still I cannnot see the Enable Java checkbox in Mozilla under the Edit->Preferences->Advanced tab. Does anyone know how to capture the events from windows media player - specifically PlayStateChange - for Firefox? I've tried the Applet approach using the NPDS.npDSEvtObsProxy class but the trace errors seem to suggest it's trying to access a class in the netscape/plugin directory - which suggests this approach will only work with Netscape? PATH works!... but... java.library.path ignored when searching for xpcom.dll

Well, this is interesting. Running a simple webclient application seemed nearly impossible from within my IDE. I have found out what I believe to be the root issue. here's the deal: - Setting java.library.path during runtime yields "dependent library can't be found". With filemon, I could see that the java process was scanning the folder containing the missing library. In this case, "xpcom.dll". However, after a few steps processed, the scan seemed to resume by scanning the system path (based on the fingerprint of the folders being searched). So, initially the process seemed to fi

I have build Mizilla 1.7, ant inside $MOZILLA\java. I soon found out that jni was not built even though ant was successful. Which executable is used to run Java applets ?

When a webpage attempts to run an applet, which executable on my computer gets launched? Is it "java.exe"? My reason for this question is that my browser (Mozilla 1.4) apparently doesn't offer the option to refuse to run Java applets. So I searched for every occurrence of "java.exe" on my hard-drive and renamed all of them to something else. I even re-booted the computer afterwards and then cleared the browser's cache. FF (1.0.2) WXPSP2 I have the Java 5.0 Runtime Environment installed, but I can't get it to work on FF anymore. It executes fine in IE, but since a recent attempt at updating, I've somehow lost FF function.
