Webclient Mac OS X: no painting

Hello, Since a few months, I do all my work on a PowerBook, on which I have installed most of the software I used to use on Linux boxes. Most of the applications I rely on are X-window stuff. One notable exception is firefox. But then I encounter the following problem. When I copy-and-paste from firefox (aqua, aka "native" version) to an X application (such as xemacs) I get some "^M" instead of nice end of lines. In Windows it's possible to create a desktop icon which points to a specific user-profile, or the email part of Mozilla/Seamonkey. If memory serves me right I think the icon has a command-line parameter along the lines of: seamonkey.exe -mail and so on. How do I do this on the Mac?

Reading mail from a CD-R

I've got problems reading email messages from CD-R. Why read mail from a CD you say? Well, I like to keep backups of my email throughout the years, so what I do is simply organize it like I want and burn it to a CD-R, CD-RW or DVD, and whenever I want to read an old email message (or even search for something specific) I pop in the CD-R and read it from mozilla, from an "email account" I've created for that purpose. FireFox/Mozilla and SMB homedirs

I have an environment in which all home dirs reside on Linux and Solaris (soon to be killed) file servers. We have set up a NetBoot environment for our Mac users that serves home dirs using Samba. OK, I'm completely new to mac, long time pc'er, first day on a new G5, first order of business was to install Firefox (OSX 10.4, firefox 1.5). When I download, it automatically installs, doesn't ask, just does it. Imported my pc bookmarks just fine, but every time I launch firefox, the mac seems to think it is a volume, and it sits on my desktop. Is this right? Tried to download ff 1.5, I could get it running but it uses the same profile as 1.0.7 and I have no idea of how to set up a new profile. the only profile manager on my system is in classic, netscape 4.79 and I do not think I should use that. Another WIERD View source Problem

Hi, When using Firefox 1.5 OSX, I go to view the source of a saved .html file. I click view source, and I scroll to any portion of the page. as I go to scroll back up, it only "updates" a 2 line portion of the window. if I scroll down again, the whole window updates. Swoping raid cards?

Hello all I found out that my raid card is not compatible with OS 10.4 the card is a sonnettech raid 66 card. I would like to upgrade to a compatible card like sonnettech raid 133. my question is; do I have to format the hardrives when I install the new card? or can I just plug them into the new card and boot up with the existing os and apps on the striped Harddrives? I want to avoid formatting cause I have much stuff configed like itunes, iphoto etc....everything is backed up, but I like everything as is. Thanks for your time!

Duplicate Bookmarks Files.

For some reason NS 7.2 (and Mozilla 1.7.12 now that I've tried it as well) replicates my Bookmarks file over and over again during each session. I haven't been able to tel just when or why. Can't view Firefox graphics

This is probably a problem with my Mac rather than Firefox, but I can't view about 1/4 of the graphics that are on web pages in Firefox. This just started happening within the past 48 hours. I can see the graphics on web pages if I switch to Safari. Odd bug in Firefox 1.06 and Netscape 7.10 on MacOS/X 10.4.2

On the same Mac running Mac OS X v10.3.9 and Netscape 7.2, one user has no problems, but another can't click on any link that would trigger a download or open an external application without Netscape crashing. POP mail locked by Mozilla

Thunderbird adding attachments in strange ways?

I'm having a problem sending attachements in Thunderbird. When I send them to folks using other mail clients (most notably Mail on OSX) they often get a whole bunch of garbled characters in the mail message. Wierd behavior with Source page window

This is a Netscape brwowser question and because Netscape and Mozilla are so similar, I will ask it here: I have been having a problem with my "View Source" window. I am on a Mac running 10.3.9 and have a dual monitor setup. My browser is Netscape 7.2. Lately when I select the "View Source" option from the "View" menu, the source window appears on my 2nd monitor with the title bar well outside the top of my screen so I can't minimize or move the window to a more convenient spot. Auto-crashing

I loaded a page that crashed Firefox. I use SessionSaver. Now when I re-run, auto-crash. Is there a solution besides Safari?

I applied patch #13 to the CVS and was able to build both mozilla suite and deerpark :-D I guess I'll try to build w/ patch #13 on the stable later today (though I'm just thankful to get anything building).

Quicker re-build after patching

Hi, Whenever I make a change to the Mozilla code (or apply a patch), I re-build the project using: make -f client.mk build This works, but takes several minutes, and appears to be doping a lot more than just re-compiling the C++ files that I changed and re-linking (in fact, even if I changed nothing, it still takes several minutes). Is there an easy way to just compile the changed files, without running all these "nsinstall"s (whatever they are)? TIA, - Uri.

Netscape mail reply-to: / to: field

Hello, after a crash and the restore of my Netscape installation on our MacIntosh (OSX) I had a change in the behavior of the mail window: when I click on "Compose" a new window opens and in the address section the tag "reply-to:" with my mail address is shown instead of the tag "to:" (as it was before the crash). Firefox Block images

I use the 'block images from' option in firefox to stop adverts from a particular url appearing on the page by clicking and holding until the drop down menu appears. I love firefox's ability to zap adverts in the way, the problem is the menu does not always appear. Presumably these adverts have a way of disabling it to stop you blocking them. I tied control click but that brings up a different menu. Is there a way to make the menu come back or stop adverts from disabling it?. Thanks
