I've been reading for days on MathML and decided to try it on my site. As far as I can tell, I have everything set-up correctly, but it's still not working. I've created a page that should show the quadratic formula and another formula, but it doesn't render anything. I got the MathML from the Design Science and the W3C Math Home page. I'm using Firefox and the equations render correctly at the w3 site, for instance, but not at my site. css trick to provide basic rendering of 'content elements' ?

Any CSS stylesheet into my xhtml I can include to provide some basic rendering for content elements in MathML with Mozilla? I am not working on presentation issue now so I will stick my information with content element only. But it will be nice if I can display those content information in the browser in some meaningful (not necessary good looking) way ... Frank Tang

MathML in XUL: identifiers not italicised

I can't get single-letter MathML identifiers (e.g. <mi>x</mi>) to be rendered italicised when the MathML is in a XUL document. The same MathML in an HTML document does, as expected, italicise such identifiers. Even nesting the MathML inside XHTML in the XUL makes no difference. The difference in behaviour is nicely illustrated by comparing the rendering of MathML in the 2 panels of the file 'math.xul' attached to the posting (in the Mozilla MathML newsgroup) 'Problems with MathML in XUL' by Brendan Boulter of 21/01/2004 (though he was asking for help on a different questi

We wanted to generate a \bordermatrix (in TeX-speak) with labels outside the brackets, something like n m - n ( R_11 ) n ( R_21 ) I believe that the natural size of the implied mrow in <mtd rowspan="2"> is the height of two rows, so a stretchy operator in there should stretch to (visually) surround the submatrix consisting of the bottom right hand portion of the mtable. mathplayer renders the document below as I expected, however mozilla doesn't stretch the brackets so I get n m - n ( R_11 ) n R_21 with brackets only rou
