CNN media player

I cannot play any of CNN's video clips using firefox. I can revert back to IE and play the video clips. I have Firefox 1.5 and windows media player 10. I have checked various newsgroups to try and find anything I may be missing, but can't find anything that appears to be a solution to this. Different default browsers across accounts in XP

Hello Mozilla fans. I use Firefox but haven't converted my wife yet. We share a computer running Windoze home XP each of us having our own account. Problem is when I changed the default browser to Firefox in my account (as well as default email to Thunderbird) the default in her account changed as well. When she changes the default back to Explorer my default changes back too. How can I change the default just in my XP account? Any help much appreciated. Thank you, Carlos

Hello... I'm trying to install global extensions on firefox on linux... Procedure: unpack tgz, install firefox. Firefox is started for the first time for root... Close... Install global extensions... (3 of them). When I start firefox as root, I see all 3 installed and running. When I start as normal user, that it displays all extensions as installed and also "active" (for example, adblock has a check at "enable adblock") but it's not active. None of those extensions works. Plugins work for all... Any ideas?

Firefox and Norton Firewalls!!!!

Anyone know if NIS 2005 or Norton Firewall 2005 is compatible with Firefox 1.06? I have Norton Firewall 2003 currently, and this won't block sites in Firefox, only with IE and Netscape! I am running Windows. Would this be the latest build of the "tip of the trunk", for Firefox. Browser wont find the internet

Recently bought a well known computer and in the process of putting it on my network and it is the only computer that will not call out to the internet via my host computer(PTP network). All of my other computers are running 98/98 SE/ME/and this new computer runs XP SP2. Firefox 0.8 & java plugin problem

Hello, I run Mandrake Linux 9.1 and had downloaded the Firefox 0.8 for Linux and installed it under /usr/share/firefox I then downloaded the Java plugin for Mozilla (JRE 1.4.2) and installed it following the instructions by creating a link to the JRE in the usr/share/firefox/plugin directory. Whenever I use Firefox to run a Java applet from a website it closes down. Anyone know why this is happening? Linux-junkie

Netscape 6 export

I need to export mail from NS6 to Mozilla Thunderbird. What is the trick? I tried everything. I tried going through Eudora first, NS7, even Opera. *Some* of the Inbox copies, but the majority does not. Based on the dates, my guess is the old NS 4.x messages are being copied and the NS 6 messages are not. This was upgraded awhile back. I even tried installing NS6 on the new machine and copying over the mail files. Even in that scenario, most messages get dropped like above. Any help appreciated.

Im not sure just what group this message needs to be posted to so, I apologize if it is in the wrong group. Problem: I can not hear any sounds playing from any website(s) (if the site has sounds) when I use Mozilla, however when I access the same site(s) from IE, I hear the sound(s). Hi I recently installed Mozilla browser on windows xp (I like it)I've been using MSN browser and mail and I'm trying to forward my msn & hotmail to Mozilla mail (2 mail accounts). Some people said that you can't do that but I found a program called Hotmail Popper that allows you do this, but I can't seem to get it set up right, and I've had no luck contacting the people with Hotmail Popper. Take a look at this code: <a name="Anchor1" /><span style="font-size:128px"><a href="http://www.google.com">Temper</a></span> In all the latest version of mozilla, this renders wrong. For some reason, the span tag totally ignores its stylessheets and the word 'Temple' is outputted as though it has no stylesheet. This is due to the anchor at the beginning of the line, if that is removed everything is fine. IE and Opera 6 seems to render this properly.
